Indications and Usage

LACRISERT® (hydroxypropyl cellulose ophthalmic insert) is an insert placed in your eye to treat moderate to severe dry eyes. It also can be used to treat the following eye conditions: exposure keratitis, decreased corneal sensitivity and recurrent corneal erosions.

Important Safety Information

  • Do not use LACRISERT® (hydroxypropyl cellulose ophthalmic insert) if you are allergic to hydroxypropyl cellulose.
  • Follow the instructions for using LACRISERT® that come with the package.
  • Because LACRISERT® may cause temporary blurred vision, use caution when driving or operating machinery.
  • The following side effects have been reported: temporary blurring of vision, discomfort, irritation or redness in the eye, matting or sticky eyelashes, eye sensitivity to light, an allergic reaction known as hypersensitivity and swelling of the eyelid.
  • Tell your doctor about any side effects that you may have.
